I know cryptocurrencies are forming a somehow orthogonal dimension to the fiat currency space, but let’s not forget they are still quoted versus the US dollar. Do you happen to know where the lowest of the low for the buck is? The American macro figures ain’t bad at all. Sum this fact up with Yellen’s rate hikes and subtract Draghi’s ongoing PS/CS/ABS/CB purchase programs. I would expect the eurusd at parity or lower – it’s been climbing up instead.
The US dollar index is in fact not yet down to multiyear lows, but we haven’t seen the greenback that cheap for a while. Cryptocurrencies have admittedly grown over the past year, while the usd has lost some 10%. Would the change in the DXY trend adversely affect the BTC&Company? I am very curious to see if/how “orthogonal” fiat and crypto universes interact if DXY hits 92 and keeps moving up.
