On Wednesday morning’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Emmy award winning daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was surprised with a $4 million donation of XRP tokens to fund her wildlife conversation efforts through The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.

The segment started with Ellen mentioning a special guest friend of hers was waiting backstage to speak to her, when former Two and a Half Men lead actor Ashton Kutcher and investor Guy Oseary join Ellen on stage for a surprise.

Kutcher and Oseary, along with billionaire investor Ron Burkle founded A-Grade investments in 2010, with the goal of investing in various tech-based startups around the globe. A-Grade has made successful investments in the likes of Uber, AirBnb, Spotify, and many more.

While speaking to Ellen, Kutcher explains that soon he and Oseary will be investing in Ripple, calling it a “platform to allow people to transfer money, from bank account to bank account, person to person, really securely, really simply, really quickly.”

Kutcher then recaps his meeting with Ripple Co-Founder Chris Larsen and CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who talked of their company’s ethos, and how they aim to be an ethical company, giving a portion of their platform away to people “doing good in the world.”

Kutcher next reveals that on behalf of Ripple, he is donating $4 million in XRP to Ellen’s Wildlife Fund. Rather than coming out with a “big giant check,” Kutcher demonstrates just how fast Ripple’s technology is, and with a push of a button, Ellen exchanges the $4 million in XRP into Rwandan Francs – the native fiat currency where Ellen’s Wildlife Fund is focusing their conservation efforts.

Ripple also recently donated $29 million in XRP to support American public schools through DonorsChoose.org. Meanwhile, this is not the first time Ellen DeGeneres featured cryptocurrency on her show in some capacity. Earlier in the year, Ellen also did a full segment on Bitcoin as well.
