Litecoin on the Market arrow_forward
Litecoin (LTC) is the blockchain-based, decentralized cryptocurrency and open source software created by the outspoken blockchain developer Charlie Lee. The “Digital Silver” to Bitcoin’s “Digital Gold”, Litecoin is a fork of the Bitcoin Core client. The primary differences between Litecoin and Bitcoin is a decreased block generation time to improve transaction speeds, and greater fixed supply of coins. Litecoin’s transaction speeds have since improved further, being the first cryptocurrency to implement the Segregated Witness (SegWit) consensus layer. The first Lightning Network transaction was also made through Litecoin. Litecoin’s price hit an all-time high of $375.29 on December 18, 2017.
